In 1988 Rotary took on the Challenge of Ending Polio – a disease sweeping the world which killed and crippled 320 thousand children a year. Last year Africa became Polio free and now just two countries – Afghanistan and Pakistan have had cases in 2021.

Special Ideas to Support Rotary Foundation Polio Fund
End Polio Tea Parties to benefit the Rotary Foundation Polio Fund
As a Past District Polio Chair in D9560, Australia I would invite you – your Club – your workplace to take part in this idea to have fun and “fund”raising at the same time.
A tea or you can of course have a coffee party can have such variations and is relatively easy to organise with a few friends.
Almost as important is the Public Image aspect locally and on social media for both
your Rotary Club and End Polio.
Just a few ideas :-
A High Tea at a Commercial Venue
Tea for Two or more of course at home or in a cafe.
A Club meeting where the members bring the food and make a donation for end polio in lieu of buying a meal
Partner with a local bakery/ cafe: donut shop and ask for a small percentage on a set date – you can promote that in your community asking that friends make purchases.
Showcase your local area with a Picnic Tea and publicise with great photos
Actually the possibilities are endless and most importantly please tell us what you did by reporting back by tagging on Facebook or reporting on the www.wgmeal.org website.
